
Goals
The major goals are to:
- Promote the leadership in nursing profession and provide dedicated nurses to the communities.
- Provide holistic care, health education and services to the community.
- Provide quality nursing education within depth knowledge of medical sciences and nursing skills comparable to international standards.
Objectives
The programmes are designed to provide students with a liberal education which prepares them to be direct care-givers, teachers, counselors and advocator for their client, family and community at large. The Students will be encouraged to perform these roles in a caring manner. The courses in the given program will contribute to the knowledge, competencies and attitude of graduates so that they may;
- Provide and facilitate comprehensive and effective client care.
- Convey an awareness and respect for the values, dignity and rights of human beings
- Recognize the extent to which personal value and attitudes influence the interaction with and care of clients.
- Apply current knowledge from nursing and other disciplines in any perspective.
- Apply scientific method while maintaining the holistic perspective.
- Take account of the influences of social, cultural, political and economic forces on the health and lifestyle of people.
- Communicate and work effectively with other health professionals, agencies and governments in dealing with client issues.
- Become self directed in the pursuit of excellence.
- By analytical, critical and independent thinkers.
- Use previous experiences and education to enhance their knowledge base and competencies.
- Affirm the values and standard of the nursing profession.
- Recognize that learning is continuous life long process.
